Welcome to the University of Edinburgh’s Exmoor Pony Society!

We are a student-led non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the wellbeing and livelihood of our Exmoor Ponies! We currently have 15 extremely cute ponies in the herd, each with their own wonderful individual personality.

We have moved back to Glendevon! Our current address is: Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking, Glendevon House Drive, Clackmannanshire, FK14 7JY. Please book a trek by calling us at 07564 335203. If you have any questions please see our FAQs or call us and ask one of our trek leaders.

The welfare of our ponies is our first priority so please be sure to check the weight requirements before you book a ride with us! You don’t have to be a student to buy a membership, everyone is welcome! Memberships give a discount on treks and are a great way to get involved and support the ponies.

Welcome Week Events

• Welcome Week Treks on 11th, 12th, 13th and 15th September 2024, open to Edinburgh University students of all abilities not just those interested in joining the section.

• EUSA activities fair, 10:00 – 16:00, 12th September 2024  
• Meet-the-ponies, 14th September 2024 
  • Please note this is a public event that is not just for Uni students: anyone is welcome to come! 
• Interest meetings for joining the TLC course will be confirmed in due course!

Experience the Pentland and Ochil Hills

Edinburgh University Exmoor Pony Trekking Section (EUEPTS) is a non-profit, student run organisation and a university society, running treks for students and the general public. Any level of rider can come and experience this cheeky native breed whilst enjoying our beautiful surroundings from horseback.

Our trekking experience is unique, taking the ponies straight from their field onto the hills (no roads involved on any of our usual treks), and allowing you to join in with caring for your pony before and after the trek.

From September to May we trek in the Pentland Hills starting in Swanston. From June to September we trek in the Ochil Hills starting in Glendevon. For exact dates of trekking in each location please contact us.
